Sealants are a thin, protective coating that adheres to the chewing surface of your back teeth and acts as a barrier to prevent decay. They’re no substitute for brushing and flossing, but they can keep cavities from forming and may even stop early stages of decay from becoming a full-blown cavity.

Dr. Marie Johnson DDS
Dr. Marie Johnson grew up in southern Maine, where her father and grandfather were dentists. She went to St. Mary’s College of Maryland and graduated cum laude with a BA in biology after spending time both in the Gambia, West Africa and Australia during her studies. She attended the University of Maryland School of Dentistry graduating magna cum laude. Dr. Marie moved to Seattle to complete a General Practice Residency at the University of Washington.
